The
Mountains
There's something about the mountains;
A sense of serenity and a peaceful pace,
Valleys filled with tradition and kin,
A feeling of belonging in this place.
Rivers flow in veins as a life force,
The scent of honeysuckle fills the air,
Travelers who have seen the beauty,
Always find a way to return there.
Maybe the mountains just hold me captive,
With the cool breeze that blows,
Or the rocky ridges I climbed as a child,
Or the wonder of the winter snows.
I only know the mountains call to me,
To entertain her hills and streams,
They're a part of my heart and soul,
The scenery in all of my pleasant dreams.
I need the serenity of the mountains,
I need the spacious room to explore,
I am blessed with nature's hospitality,
Waiting patiently for me at my front door.
