The wedding cake.

Crystal was probably the happiest bride I had ever seen.
She giggled just about all day long. I had taken her out to lunch before time to show up for having her hair done and getting
dressed for pre-wedding photos. During lunch I told her that she had better not have anything to drink since trying to use
the bathroom with that gown on was going to be next to impossible! Anytime she looked anxious or nervous, I would say something
like, "Well, we could find a half barrel somewhere for you to squat over."
We would both laugh and the tension would melt away.
The Reverend showed up and wanted to see the marriage license
before the ceremony. By the time he was done talking with Andy about his responsibilites as a husband and about the many problems
with married couples, I do believe Andy was wondering if there was still time to make it the airport! By the way, the Reverend
was 85 years young.

After helping Crystal to get dressed and going through
a couple of hours of staged photographs, I looked around and wondered myself if there was still time to get to the airport
before the next plane left!
Kyle was my escort and Chris escorted Andy's mother to
be seated. They were also responsible for rolling out the aisle runner for the bride to walk on.
Chris escorting Andy's mother to be seated with her significant
other behind them.
As I mentioned, the boys were supposed to roll out the
aisle runner for the bride to walk on. They picked up the roll as they were supposed to, stretched out the rope, as they were
supposed to do, and tugged gently, as they were supposed to do. The runner pulled out of the ground and the breeze blew it
off of the aisle. Crystal's Uncle David saved the day by grabbing the end and holding it until the boys could get it unrolled.
They then tacked it back into the ground at that point. All went well until her father walked her down the aisle and as he
was going to be seated, he caught his foot in the runner and pulled it up as he caught himself to keep from falling!

At last, they were pronounced husband and wife....but it
was not the average service at all. The minister started the ceremony by asking the people who were there to witness the wedding
to recite the "Lord's Prayer." Half-way through, while the people were still reciting the prayer, he started the ceremony
again. "Matthew," he began......and Andy rolled his eyes and slightly shook his head "no."
"Oh, let's see now," he said as he looked into his bible, "Andrew, are you?"
Andy nodded yes and the Reverend started all over.
At the end of the vows, he just stood there and paused without announcing
them as "Mr. & Mrs." or saying anything. No one moved and after a few seconds he said, "Well, they're married now." LOL
Crystal and Andy started to walk down the aisle to the house, we all started
blowing bubbles and then, the Reverend said, "Please join me in a prayer for the couple."
Again, everything stopped and we all bowed our heads until he was finished.
Immediately after the service he announced, "That's it, I'm leaving."
Her father practically had to chase him to his car to give him his card and
gift.

Courtney, the flower girl, was escorted by Caleb, the ring
bearer. They still believe in Cooties so getting them to walk arm-in-arm was not easy and didn't last long!
Andy's father served as his best man and welcomed my daughter
into their family with a beautiful toast.
The veil was the first thing to go after the ceremony and
they were happy campers to have the vows behind them.

By the end of the day, Chris had decided that a career
in ushering was out of the question for him. He also decided that when it's time for him to be married, he's going to elope
in Las Vegas!

Crystal enjoyed a wedding dance with her father at the
end of the reception. Dancing is not anything he enjoys so this made her very happy!
