Welcome to my short stories!

I hope you will read the poetry, short stories and special moments from my life that I have posted here. We all experience many things in life and sometimes we feel like we are alone on the path we follow. I hope my work helps others to see that there is always someone else going through the same things. Somehow, at least for me, that makes life easier to cope with.

West Virginia Born & Bred

I'm just a girl from West Virginia,

Preferring not wear my shoes.

The thought of having my toes cramped,

Causes me to sing the blues.

I hunted for deer before I started school,

Can drive anything that comes with wheels.

I don't need fancy surroundings to survive,

I'm can always spot a good deal.

Most of my family lives nearby,

They won't leave the mountains behind.

Hospitality here is the best in the land,

Friendlier people would be hard to find.

I'm just a West Virginian, born & bred,

I'll fight for my honor or my wounded pride.

I'll fight for my country and I fly my flag,

I'm known by my integrity far and wide.

Don't tread on me and we'll get along,

I'm the best neighbor you'll ever find.

I don't borrow but I'll gladly lend to you,

I am straightforward, intelligent and kind.
